营造旧想法不对---挑战----新想法---成功

1 学校陈旧的制服制度

There was an unreasonable rule about uniforms at my previous school, which required us to wear a formal set on a daily basis, consisting of green jackets, pants for boys and skirts for girls. By contrast, the sports set, made up of athletic shorts and t-shirts, was only allowed to be worn during PE class.

2 挑战原因

This order rudely ignored the local weather of my city, whose temperature often surpassed 30 degrees centigrade in June，rendering a great number of students uncomfortable or even prone to sunstroke in formal uniforms. That was the reason why a great many students rebelled by wearing casual clothes instead of school uniforms. Some even deserted their own school uniforms into the garbage bin to show their discontent at the authority’ improper rule.

3挑战

Being a student representative as well as the vice president of the Student Council, I decided to have a talk with Mr. Song, our principal.

4提出新的想法

Along with some members of the Student Council, I brought out the new idea, “Since it is becoming increasingly sticky, it is strongly hoped that the students could have freedom to choose what to wear.” As our principal nodded, I got relieved a little and added, “Actually, we prefer the sports suit, light and suitable for the hot days.”

After hearing my suggestion, our principal halted for a few seconds before announcing the amazing decision, “It is a well-thought idea. It is worth trying,” he uttered, “We’ll talk this over and announce our decision tomorrow.” Hearing this conclusion, we were all thrilled.

5 结果

The next day, through the daily assembly the school authorities eliminated the original rule and adopted our idea, wearing sports suit in May and June while formal sets in the rest. Almost all the students stood up from their seats and cheered for this change.

6 总结

Had I not stepped out and questioned the out-dated rule, the students in my school might still wear uncomfortable uniforms now. Therefore, it is irrational rules that need questioning.
